October is set to be a busy month at The Village School!  

UPCOMING EVENTS - 

Wednesday, October 4th - 11:30am
The Colbert County chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will be hosting their annual meeting at The Village School Foundation!
Clayton Davis will be speaking about the correlation between archeology and preservation.
Ms. Paige Thomas of the Alabama Historic Commission will be speaking about Community preservation and Places in Peril.

The Chief Colbert Chapter, NSDAR invites you to be our guest for the Program on Historical Preservation!

Attendance to the presentation is free and open to the public.

Our next volunteer meet up in partnership with Muscle Shoals National Heritage Area.  No experience necessary; feel free to come by and say hi!
Saturday, October 28th - 4pm-8pm
Join us for our annual fundraiser at The Village School on Saturday, October 28th!
This year's event is Halloween themed and kid friendly!
 
4pm-6pm - OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
-Charlie's Coffee and Hattie Mae's food trucks!

6:30-8pm - Haunted History of the Shoals Sheffield Ghost Talk with Laura Aldridge
TICKETS SOLD IN ADVANCE OR AT THE DOOR
$15 or
$10 for kids 12 and under
Ghost Stories with local historian, Laura Aldridge
A spirited evening of spooky tales steeped in Sheffield’s legends and history.
Among the stories you'll hear:
Downtown Sheffield's most haunted restaurant.
The story of the historic neighborhood where scores of Sheffield citizens met a grisly fate.
A recording studio where a session musician still haunts the living.
Homes of famous residents whose ghosts still walk the halls of their past lives.
and much more!


Tickets will are available now for the Ghost Talk portion of the event - Follow the FB event to receive regular updates!  We'll send out another newsletter ahead of the fundraiser.
